SEVEN COLORS
OF HEAVEN
BY THE CHICAGO RIVER
A deeply personal journey through faith, suffering, perseverance, grace, and the presence of God in life’s darkest moments.
FAITH REFINED THROUGH THE STORMS OF LIFE
Seven Colors of Heaven: By the Chicago River is a deeply personal account of Joshua Ehm’s journey as a Christian leader.
It is not the story of a perfect life or uninterrupted victories.
It is a testimony of faith refined through suffering, disappointment, betrayal, loneliness, failure, and perseverance.
Throughout the book, Joshua reflects on the difficult seasons when hope seemed distant and the challenges of life appeared overwhelming.
At the center of his story is his belief that Jesus Christ remained his constant companion through every trial.
The book invites readers to discover a faith sustained not by human perfection, but by the grace and faithfulness of God.
BORN BESIDE
THE CHICAGO RIVER
In July 2024, Joshua left Michigan and moved to downtown Chicago.
For ten months, he lived in an apartment overlooking the Chicago River. His days followed a familiar routine: coffee in the morning, long walks along the river, and quiet reflection as the city moved around him.
At night, he stood before his apartment window, looking across Chicago’s illuminated skyline.
Autumn passed. Winter followed. Then spring arrived.
One day, while walking beside the Chicago River, Joshua experienced a moment that deeply affected him.
He returned to his apartment, opened his laptop, and began writing.
For the next four days, he became completely absorbed in the manuscript, writing from morning until late at night.
His neighbor Max noticed his intense focus and brought him meals during those days.
On July 7, 2025, Joshua completed the final sentence.
Seven Colors of Heaven had been written in just four days.

ONE STORY.
MANY LANGUAGES.
Although Seven Colors of Heaven was originally written in English, Joshua chose to publish translated editions first.
The book has been made available to readers through international and underground distribution networks.
Published Languages
Additional Korean and Kurdish translations have also been reported as being in progress.
WHY IS THERE NO ENGLISH EDITION?
Since the book’s publication, more than 3,000 emails and messages have reportedly been received from readers asking why the book is not available in English.
Although Joshua wrote the original manuscript in English, the decision to publish translated editions first was intentional.
According to the published explanation from Joshua and Iranian Underground House Churches (IUHC), the decision involved political considerations, sensitive personal material, and the timing of publication in the United States.
The book contains experiences connected to faith, persecution, politics, and life in the Middle East.
Joshua and IUHC therefore decided to make the story available first to readers in other languages and communities.
Will an English Edition Be Published?
At present, no English-language publication date has been announced.
The possibility of an English edition remains under consideration.
The story has not been forgotten. The English edition has not been abandoned.
A STORY THAT SUPPORTS OTHERS
According to Joshua’s published statement, every dollar of profit from Seven Colors of Heaven has been donated to support underground house churches.
The book’s purpose extends beyond publication and readership.
It is intended to encourage believers, strengthen faith, and support communities facing difficult circumstances.
Through international and underground networks, the story continues to reach readers across different languages and cultures.
