When Faith Comes With a Cost: The Courage to Be Baptized in Iran

Across the IUHC network, believers continue to gather, learn, pray, support one another, and celebrate new life in Christ. The safety of our members is always a priority. For this reason, we do not publish names, exact locations or other identifying information that could place individual believers, families, or house-church communities at risk. Images and testimonies may also be edited or presented anonymously to protect those involved.

For Christians around the world, water baptism is a joyful declaration of faith and an important step of obedience to Jesus Christ. For some believers in Iran—particularly those who have converted from Islam to Christianity—the decision to be baptized can also involve serious personal risks.
