In July 2024, I left Michigan and moved to downtown Chicago, settling into an apartment overlooking the Chicago River. For ten months, my routine rarely changed. Every morning, I would grab a cup of coffee and walk along the river, spending hours reflecting as the city came alive around me. At night, I stood before the window of my sixteenth-floor apartment, gazing at the skyline illuminated against the darkness. Autumn passed. Then winter. Then spring. Yet, despite the changing seasons, something inside me remained unchanged. One day, while walking beside the Chicago River, something happened that I still cannot fully explain. It wasn’t merely a thought or an idea—it was something that stirred deep within my heart. Words cannot adequately describe that moment. I ran back to my apartment, opened my laptop, and began to write.
For the next four days, I barely left my apartment. I wrote from morning until late at night, completely absorbed in what was unfolding before me. At times, I became so consumed by the writing that I even forgot to eat. My neighbor, Max, a young American, noticed something different in me. Sensing that I was entirely focused on the manuscript, he kindly brought me lunch and dinner each day to make sure I was eating. On July 7, 2025, I typed the final sentence. That was the day Seven Colors of Heaven was born. It took only four days to write the book. Although I originally wrote it in English, I chose not to publish the English manuscript. Instead, I translated it into several other languages first. Perhaps one day I will publish the original English edition exactly as it was written beside the Chicago River.

Every dollar of profit from the book has been donated to support underground house churches. Seven Colors of Heaven is more than a book—it is a deeply personal account of my journey as a Christian leader. It is not the story of an unbroken life or uninterrupted victories. It is the testimony of a faith refined through suffering, disappointment, and perseverance. I have experienced betrayal, loneliness, failure, and seasons when hope seemed distant. Yet through every trial, Jesus Christ remained my constant companion—the light in my darkest nights and the voice of peace in my fiercest storms. Even when my faith faltered and the weight of doubt threatened to overwhelm me, He never abandoned me. This book is not a manual for living a perfect life. It is a map for walking through the wilderness. Within these pages, you will discover a faith that is not sustained by human strength but by the unchanging grace of God. It is a declaration that no matter how fierce the storm, we stand secure because the One who conquered death walks beside us. You will read about my failures—moments when fear overcame courage, when anger clouded wisdom, and when, in the depths of despair, I spoke words I deeply regretted. I have hidden nothing. I have laid bare my soul, revealing both my wounds and my weaknesses. My hope is not that you will see a perfect man, but that you will encounter the faithfulness of a perfect Savior.
If this book accomplishes anything, I pray it will remind you that God’s grace is greater than our failures, His mercy is deeper than our wounds, and His love remains steadfast through every season of life.

Why Was “Seven Colors of Heaven” Not Published in English?
A Response to More Than 3,000 Questions from Readers. August 10, 2026
Since the publication of Seven Colors of Heaven, we have received more than 3,000 emails and messages from readers asking the same question:
“Why isn’t the book published in English?”
We understand the question. Many readers expected Joshua’s newest book to be available in English, particularly because English is the language in which the manuscript was originally written. The decision was intentional. After careful consideration, Joshua and IUHC decided not to publish the full story in English at this time. Several factors contributed to that decision, including political considerations, the sensitive nature of the story, and the timing of the U.S. publishing environment. At the same time, we recognized that audiences in several Eastern and international communities were ready to hear this story. We therefore chose to allow Seven Colors of Heaven to reach those readers first through other languages and trusted distribution networks. We believe timing matters. Publishing a story is not only about asking: “Is the world ready to hear it?”
It is also about asking:
“When is the right time?”
“Who is ready to receive it?”
“How should the story be presented?”
For Joshua and IUHC, these questions were especially important because Seven Colors of Heaven contains deeply personal experiences and sensitive material connected to faith, persecution, politics, and life in the Middle East. Rather than rushing the story into an English-language market simply because there is demand, we chose to be deliberate about when, where, and how the story is shared.
So, Will There Be an English Edition?
We continue to receive requests from readers asking when they will be able to read the complete book in English. At this time, there is no announced English publication date. IUHC will continue to evaluate the possibility of an English edition as circumstances develop and believe the right opportunity and timing become clear. Until then, the story continues to travel through the languages and communities that were ready to receive it.

The Judge who sent Joshua in prison & tortured, just because he converted to Christianity, killed by Israel drone
According to Joshua’s testimony, the judge who sentenced him to prison after his conversion to Christianity was Abdolghassem Salavati, a judge of Iran’s Revolutionary Court. Salavati, who presided over Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, became widely known internationally for imposing harsh sentences in political and security-related cases. Human rights organizations have documented his role in prosecuting political dissidents, journalists, human rights defenders, and peaceful demonstrators, leading many to refer to him as “the Judge of Death.” Joshua recounts that after converting from Islam to Christianity, he was arrested and sentenced to 15 months in Tehran’s Evin Prison, where he says he endured torture and prolonged solitary confinement.
One of the most traumatic experiences he describes was confinement inside a pitch-black cell barely five feet in length with a low ceiling, where he could neither stand upright nor stretch his body. For 120 days, darkness became his only companion as time slowly disappeared. Joshua also describes spending 36 days in an even smaller isolation cell, where complete silence and total darkness tested both his physical endurance and his mental resilience. Years later, according to reports, Judge Abdolghassem Salavati was killed during an Israeli military strike in Tehran on March 3, 2026. Joshua reflects on that event not as a moment of personal celebration, but as another reminder of the tragic cycle of violence that has marked Iran’s modern history.
